Greetings and welcome to The Execution of Talo! A Choose Your Own Adventure style forum game where you, the viewer, get to decide any course of action for Talo to undertake!

If you are not used to this sort of style of storytelling, you play the role of the character and decide what you want them to do.

I can pick and choose or even combine different requests together to have them occur, and I can also have Talo weigh in on decisions as well. If someone wants to check inventory, and another wants to check out an object in a room, then we can both! Or if someone wants to attack something and someone suggests to run away, then I can leave it up to Talo to decide as well.

All in all, this is an open-ended adventure and I look forward to see how you guys do~

You grab your TRUSTY SPEAR that you set in the corner. It is a sturdy weapon, and good for using your SPELLBLADE MAGIC at a MEDIUM BUT NOT TOO FAR DISTANCE. But you simply set it down so you could more easily climb to the MEYE in the corner.
You then proceed to approach the DARK PORTAL at the side of the room. It is a semi-standard design found inside some cases of ancient ruins. From what you recall, ruins of this ANCIENT, BYGONE ERA are meant to be COMPLEX ARCHITECTURAL MAZES with the intent to CONFUSE AND CONFOUND INTRUDERS at time.

You look outside the portal and CHECKING BOTH WAYS.

To the LEFT SIDE IF A CAMERA WAS FACING TOWARDS YOU, you see the way you entered, with a MEYE keeping lookout, though not too diligently. You also see another DARK PORTAL underneath the LAZY MEYE.
To the RIGHT SIDE, you see the hallway plunge into DEEP DARKNESS, with a UNMOVING SENTRY BOT sitting there.

Taking a moment to gather your thoughts, you return back to the room you were in and take out your tablet. You take a moment to assess it.

It contains MANY POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS, from a BESTIARY, to an ENCYCLOPEDIA, CLOCK, TEXT AND SMS SYSTEMS, CLICKER GAMES, CAMERA, VIDEO CALLS, CARD GAMES, NOTEPAD, REMINDERS, RECIPE BOOKS, REGULAR BOOKS, VIRTUAL PETS, IRREGULAR BOOKS and MANY MORE. Though it seems anything required ONLINE ACCESS is CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

Can the BESTIARY record creatures/enemies you encounter? If so, and assuming it does not need internet access, why don't we scan UNMOVING SENTRY BOT in the RIGHT SIDE of the DARK PORTAL? If that is not possible, how about we use some SPELLBLADE MAGIC on it and see what happens?

Seconding Pump's idea of scanning the sentry bot, but investigating the LAZY MEYE might be a good idea as well

use the BESTIARY to scan the VIRTUAL PETS

The BESTIARY does have a BUILT-IN SCANNER to assess POTENTIAL THREATS AND CURRENT STATES OF SAID POTENTIAL THREATS, so you pull up the app and try to sneakily survey the UNMOVING SENTRY BOT.
The Bestiary seems to classify the UNMOVING SENTRY BOT as a SENTREYE Model-823c. From the RECORDS OF OTHER ADVENTURERS, this type of model is typically a SKITTISH AND ANNOYINGLY MOBILE foe, but it seems that this particular one is not a threat due to the interal circuitry all being fried or otherwise destroyed.

Feeling a little more safer, you turn towards to LAZY MEYE, and scan that one.
You scan the LAZY MEYE but there doesn't seem to be any PRE-EXISTING RECORDS from any other adventurers on this creature. You make a MENTAL NOTE TO YOUR FUTURE SELF that you should write out and upload documents on their weaknesses when you get YOUR ONLINE CONNECTION BACK. Currently it seems their weakness is the BIG, VULNERABLE WIRES coming out of the TOP OF THEM. You have disabled one in the room you are currently standing in.

Other than that, the scanner seems to indicate the this LAZY MEYE seems to be MORE SENSITIVE TO QUICK MOVEMENT. Otherwise it is a FAIRLY TERRIBLE LOOKOUT.

Feeling no immediate threat from either of these sources, and with ME itself being silent, you think this is a perfect time to boot up a QUICK AND SLIGHTLY ADDICTIVE INCREMENTAL GAME, in an attempt to wait to see if your ONLINE CONNECTION will be restored.
You boot up SEA-SCRAPE, a VERY FUN GAME where you TRAVEL THE BEACHES OF THE WORLD and COLLECT JUNK AND GOODIES AND TRANSFORM IT into COSMETIC DECORATIONS for your SOOTHING, FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE HOME. You personally really like the decoration made from driftwood, though seashells are also one of your favourites.

After clicking for AN INDETERMINATE AMOUNT OF TIME, you get anxious that the ONLINE CONMECTION does not seem to be returning ANYTIME SOON.

regarding the COMPet, can we see its stats? i know the BESTIARY can't scan it, but does the game have a built-in meter like the sims?

The stats for any COMPet egg are UNKNOWN until after the EGG STAGE. Usually there is a HUNGER, AFFECTION and ENTERTAINMENT stats that you manage.

You proceed to do what you can for the COMPet. You decide to FEED the egg, deciding to set food beside the egg for when it will hatch. You settle on giving it a BIRTHDAY CAKE, since it seems like it would be a nice treat for its first meal. You do sit and ponder for a moment if, technically, the hatching day would technically count as the birthday, or would it be the day you actually receive the COMPet egg? Maybe a HATCHINGDAY CAKE would be a more appropriate name?

You then proceed to GIVE A GOOD AMOUNT OF PETS using the INTERACTIVE TOUCHSCREEN of the EVER-IMPORTANT ADVENTURER TABLET.
As you proceed to PET the COMPet egg, you get a QUESTION FROM THE APP. It is asking if you want to TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS, letting you know WHEN THE COMPET NEEDS CARE. In your experience THE NOTIFICATIONS TEND TO BE LOUD, INSISTENT AND SEEMINGLY COMPLETELY RANDOM. It is probably one of the WORST PARTS OF THE APP, but IT IS DEFINITELY EFFECTIVE IN GETTING YOUR ATTENTION. You decide to just leave the tablet on the question until you can settle on a decision.

As you ponder what to do with the egg, you decide to leave and inspect the UNMOVING SENTRY BOT. Setting it down on the ground, you retrieve a SMALL KNIFE from your ADVENTURING EQUIPMENT and proceed to find A LOOSE PANEL which you EASILY PRY OPEN, leaving you staring at a BLANK, GUTTED INTERIOR INSIDE. No mechanisms, no wiring, no sensors, no circuitry. The Bestiary saying that the internals were all fried or destroyed seems to have BEEN A BIT OFF. It is not too unusual for the scanner to OCCASIONALLY FALSELY IDENTIFY CASES like these, especially in THOSE WITH FEW SCANNED CASES.
Feeling a bit offput and anxious by the OMINOUS EMPTY INTERIOR and looking further down the hallway at the DARKNESS BEYOND, you can't help but feel a shiver down your spine. You could likely travel down the hall, but you decide to maybe put that on hold until you regain your composure.

Turning around, you decide to distract yourself with something more actiony. Pushing yourself against the wall, you slowly slide along the wall and avoid moving too quickly, as you slowly progress while the LAZY MEYE is distracted.
Eventually, you reach the DARK PORTAL and enter it. Inside you are OVERWHELMED BY SUDDEN, MASSIVE DAMP EARTH FEELING ON ALL YOUR SENSES as you enter the next room. You glance around and see a room filled with with a SEVERAL GIANT PLANTS, DIRT, along side a DESK, ROBOT AND MANY STACKS OF DAMP PAPER.

The desk reads 'Reception' on the front and the robot looks up from the desk to STARE PASSIVELY at you with red eyes. The RED-EYED ROBOT gives no reaction as you raise your TRUSTY SPEAR.
