I wrote out some lore for my echoe species and wanna know your thoughts!

This was originally written in discord DMs to Nia, but figured I could also ask for some thoughts and feedback on it here ~

The echoe are cosmic beings found primarily in the world of Aether. Said to have originated from the corpse of a fallen god, who gave the world the gift of Astra (my magic system) through the Echoe. The echoe can grant Astra when they have formed a pact of friendship with someone, and that Astra will be passed down to a person's descendants as it has become part of their very essence. And that echoe tends to stick around with one of the descendants. (Nitor is a special case but not sure how to explain.)
Now information on them themselves. The echoe are highly intelligent creatures, that are able to speak — their minds similar to that of mortals. They are described as feral starry animals, typically canids but can be other types, wearing a mask. Though I've actually very much considered making an anthro form for fun. They usually have white fur and parts of their body looks like the cosmos in a physical form, this is the Astra that their entire being is made from. And their tail tends to be very flowy like Sorbet. They wear a dark colored mask that basically holds them together, and acts as their core. They need it to live. These masks are said to be from the bones of the ancient, fallen god's corpse. And it is extremely difficult to break or even crack. If you have seen non-cisumian Whisper though... the mask on them IS badly damaged. And if it does break an echoe will die. Turning to a black goop. This is the only way for one to die as they are completely immortal otherwise. The echoe cannot reproduce, their population is finite but at least there are a decent number of them in existence. I think around 800,000? They were born through a process known as "kindling".
The two echoe I have designed — Whisper and Ferry. Whisper was born recently compared to the vast majority of other echoe — only around 20 years of existence. It's rare but sometimes this can happen. (Still figuring out how) Though unfortunately shortly after they had kindled their mask was somehow damaged.
Ferry acts as a mail delivery echoe, and are kind of the mascot for it, don't have much for them yet. But they are big enough to ride on and has wings! Whisper is the size of a normal irl fox.
I also have Relic but they are in another dimension. And no longer really an echoe.
